My wife took it well, but those words can sting a bit. She repeatedly heard that her little baby looks just like me. Our child got 50% of her DNA from my wife, and yet people think she looks just like me (her father).
“Yeah, but she’s just like you in character,” I told her. My wife laughs, because it’s true. Our baby has inherited her strong character, and has no trouble expressing what she likes or wants. That’s both fun to see, and sometimes annoying, when we just want her to do what we tell her to.
This has inspired some new designs.
For Tiger Mamas and Their Little Tigers
This t-shirt lets the world know that, while the child has Papa’s looks, he/she also inherited a good chunk of Mama. And watch out, because that part “ROARS!” It’s cute and fun.
For Mama, it’s also a reminder that her little one is a lot like her in character. So, if you’re wondering why your child behaves the way he/she does, then think back to yourself, and how younger you would react. More importantly, how would younger you want to be treated?
For Papa Bears and Their Cubs
Of course, once I got started I simply had to create one for Papas too. Some kids have Mama’s (good) looks, but Papa’s character. Enter the growling bear…

P.S., Appearances Change Over Time
Who a child looks like the most changes over time. As a baby, it can change week by week. We’ve already seen this with our child. She’s looking a bit more asian now, compared to at birth. Still looks more like Papa, though. 😉
